BoomBID - Last Minute booking

How it works:

Travellers come to BoomBID Last Minute to get a best deal at 3.5 to 5 star hotels

The customer inputs their destination and dates, can select hotels with specific services and a list of hotel options are displayed. Before any money is paid, BoomBID Last Minute provides:

  • The full regular hotel room rate and ‘opaque’ reduced room/suite rates. With most other ‘opaque’ models, customers never know the regular hotel rate at any time during the process.
  • A customized map of the general location.
  • A full listing of hotel and room amenities, walking distance to local attractions, shopping centers and complimentary services.

By requiring hotels to display regular room/suite rates and making the customer aware of the discount they are ‘bidding’ on, the consumer knows exactly what they will be paying. This opaque model creates value to the consumer by ensuring hotels are competing on price.

To secure customer bid for a last-minute discount, customers are required to pay a BID deposit only based on the star rating of the hotel:

5.0 Star Hotel - $ 120.00 US BID Deposit

4.5 Star Hotel - $ 95.00 US BID Deposit

4.0 Star Hotel - $ 75.00 US BID Deposit

3.5 Star Hotel - $ 55.00 US BID Deposit

Once the payment deposit (the BID) is made, the full name, address, phone number and web site address of the hotel is provided to the customer. This is a key differentiator: unlike all other opaque sites, the customer learns the identity of the hotel before committing to a full, non-refundable payment. In the event that a BID discounted room is not available, the customer BID deposit will be refunded immediately.

To book the room or suite, the customer must pay the outstanding balance within 30 minutes, less the BID deposit. If the outstanding balance to book the room/suite is not paid, the BID deposit is forfeited.
